Curriculum
Each phase of
the yoga training is two weeks long. The training covers in-depth
study and practice that includes:

Morning and evening Asana sessions

Knowledge of Yoga scriptures and philosophy of Yoga

Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology
-
Nutrition
-
Introduction to Ayurveda
-
Teaching skills
-
Pranayama and Meditation
-
Development of a proper personal practice
-
Service, singing, fun, and laughter

Phase 1
emphasizes on developing your personal practices in a disciplined
manner. The syllabus includes correct practice of asanas (postures),
knowledge form various scriptures, meditations, philosophy, and study
of human anatomy. After this course both body and mind feel fresh and
new. One feels fully grounded spiritually and emotionally. This phase
is a definite asset in developing discipline in one's own practices.
Prerequisite:
Completion of one
Art of Living Course Part 2. Listening to Sri
Sri's tapes on Yogasara Upanishadas and Patanjali's Yoga Sutras is
highly recommended. |
Phase 2,
continuation of phase 1, is for those interested in becoming yoga
teachers. It is more technical. One learns how to teach yoga properly. It
contains more anatomy and physiology, and some knowledge of Ayurveda. At
the successful completion of Phase 2 participants receive a certificate.

Phase 3
is very similar to phase 1 but with increased depth and intensity. A
lot more emphasis is placed on the practice of asanas and meditation.

Phase 4
is similar to phase 2 but of advanced nature.
